Top 5 Wednesday - Top Halloween Recs!

Top 5 Wednesday -  28th October 2015
Top Halloween Recs!

5) Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
An absolute, paranormal classic and fabulous Halloween read. Why you're at it, why not read the 10th anniversary special edition - life and death?

4) Moon Dance by J R Rain
The first book I ever read on my Kindle - though that isn't why I'm recommending it! It's got murder, mystery, thriller, werewolves, curses and vampires - what more could you ask for?!

3) Half Bad by Sally Green
If you want a dark, witchy book with many mysteries and curses then look no further.

2) Evermore by Alyson Noel
For a book I absolutely adore, I really don't talk about it often enough! A fabulous read for Halloween!

1) The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
Please please please read this book for a fantastic creepy experience. Dare I say the new upcoming Harry Potter series?

Top 5 Wednesday - Top Authors You Discovered This Year

Top 5 Wednesday - 21st Ocober 2015
Side Characters that deserve their own series

5) Robyn Schneider
This year I managed to red Extraordinary Means and I loved it. Shortly after, I discovered that I actually own Severed Heads, Broken Hearts and I can't wait to read it!
Robyn Schneider

4) Estelle Laure
I absolutely loved Laure's debut novel This Raging Light and she is definitely a new auto buy author!
Estelle Laure

3) Keira Cass
I because obsessed with The Selection trilogy and although I can't wait to read the spin off series, I am waiting until all of the books are out.
Kiera Cass

2) Kate Scelsa
Another fantastic author, now an auto buy, discovered by their debut novel - Fans of the Impossible Life.
Kate Scelsa
Rainbow Rowell
1) Rainbow Rowell
Everybody was recommending Rainbow Rowell to me but it wasn't until this past year that I read Eleanor and Park and Fangirl that I became hooked! I am so happy that I dived into this author!

Top 5 Wednesday - Side Characters that deserve their own series

Top 5 Wednesday - 22nd July 2015
Side Characters that deserve their own series

5) Alice - Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Alice is my favourite character from the Twilight series and I would love a spin off series following her life before she became a vampire as well as her romance with Jasper. I am very excited about the Twilight mini movies as there are a few about her.

4) Macon Ravenwood - Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia, Margaret Stohl
Macon is such an interesting character and I would love a series showing his romantic affairs with Ethan's mother.

3) Caleb Prior - Divergent by Veronica Roth
Everyone comes to hate Caleb throughout the Divergent series but I think if we had a chance to see his transitioning into his new faction and his reasoning, we may understand him more.

2) Isaac - The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I love Isaac so much - he is hilarious and a great addition to the novel. However, I do believe his love story is worthy of a book or two of its own!

1) Marlee Woodwork - The Selection by Kiera Cass
Marlee is one of the most lovable characters in the Selection trilogy and is involved in so many events. I would love a series following her entry into the selection and her affair and life after.

Top 5 Wednesday - Characters you Wish You Could Drown

Top 5 Wednesday - 24th June 2015
Characters You Wish You Could Drown

5) Felix - Once by Morris Gleitzman
I wouldn't necessarily say I would drown Felix, but he did annoy me during this book. He was very VERY naive for the situations he is in and I acknowledge this may just be his character building, but come on, he must have got the idea by now!

4) Lola - Confessions of a teenage drama queen by Dyan Sheldon
This was my first and one of my only DNF books purely because of the main character. Her voice was obnoxious, annoying and very hard to read.

3) Jem - Undone by Cat Clarke
Without giving any of the story away, as this book is best to go into blind, I found this character's reaction to a named event very immature and this annoyed me very much.

2) Zoe - Ketchup Clouds by Annabel Pitcher
Again, another character who was immature in all ways. She was also very self centered and though the world revolved around her - an attention seeker at times.

1) Alice - Side effects may vary by Julie Murphy
Although this is the character I would most like to drown, it is not in a way that the author created a character in which I don't like, Alice's character is meant to be worthy of a drowning as that is what makes this book (at least that is what I believe).

Top 5 Wednesday - Favourite Books of the Year So Far!

Top 5 Wednesday - 3rd June 2015
Favourite Books of the Year So Far!

Although I haven't read many books this beginning half of the year due to exams, I will be counting down my top 5 favourite books of the year so far!

5) She is not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick
I haven't finished this boo yet but I am 75% of the way through it and absolutely loving it! There isn't much substance plot wise but this book is focused on character development especially of Laureth who is visually impaired. The issue of visual impairment is tackled excellently here so you really understand what the character live like! Shaping up to be a fantastic read!

4) Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
Despite all the controversy surrounding this book, I actually really enjoyed it. It was one of the first books I read in 2015 and I rated it 5 stars!
Read my review.

3) The Selection by Kiera Cass
2) The Elite by Kiera Cass
1) The One by Kiera Cass
I gave all the books in this series 5 stars but ultimately I thought I enjoyed each book more as I went along. Literally, one of the best series I have ever read and I am distraught that I have finished the trilogy.

Top 5 Wednesday - Books You Won't Read. Ever.

Top 5 Wednesday - 27th May 2015
Books You Won't Read. Ever.

My first Top 5 Wednesday post! This week, I will be counting down my top five books that I will never ever read.

5) Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Fantasy isn't one of my favourite genres and it tends to be that they are all series which I prefer standalones or at least short series. For a genre that I don't necessarily enjoy, Outlander is a very large book which I don't think I have the energy or time to read. I'd much rather read other books.

4) Shades of Earth by Beth Revis

I read Across the Universe a few years back and really enjoyed however for some reason haven't got round to reading a million suns yet. I will not though, be reading Shades of Earth for the reason of the covers. The covers for the first two books are beautiful and then they ruined it by changing the covers for the third one which I believe is really ugly. I don't want to ruin my shelves with it.

3) Struck by Lightning by Chris Colfer
I am a huge Glee fan and when I heard about Chris Colfer's book, I immediately went out to get it but somehow never managed to read it. I did (shameful of me I know), watched the film before the book. I really did not like the film. I thought it was really depressing and I know the topic is a sad but important one, I felt all the issues discussed were really blown out of proportion and now I don;t want to read the book. LESSON: read the book before the movie!

2) My Perfect Life by Dyan Sheldon
After reading the first book (Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen), not managing to finish it and rating it only 1.5 stars, I don't think I will be carrying on with this series. I just felt the writing was slow and plot weak and I really couldn't get into this series so will not be finishing it.

1) Stand Off by Andrew Smith
This is probably my most controversial one on the list. The second book in the Winger series and I will not be continuing after very much disliking Winger. Again, I thought the plot had no substance and everyone told me to stick it out until the plot twist which I found very disappointing. I will not be reading anymore books in this series. Ever.
