2013 Wrap Up and 2014 Goals
2013 has been a great year for me! At the end of January, I began this blog, and over the year it has developed drastically. Thanks to this, I have read more than I ever have this year and the books I am reading are ones I would have never touched before. I can safely say my horizons have been broadened!
I read some great books this year, mostly ones that have had brilliant reviews from book tubers and bloggers I follow. Here are my top ten books of 2013:
1) Beautiful Creatures by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia
2) The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
3) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
4) The 100 by Kass Morgan
5) Across the Universe by Beth Revis
6) Matched by Ally Condie
7) The Queen Bee of Bridgeton by Leslie DuBois
8) The Twice Lived Summer of Bluebell Jones by Susie Day
9) The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda
10) Gone by Michael Grant
I have enjoyed many book to film adaptations this year and believe there are definitely many to look forward to next year! The ones I most enjoyed this year are shown below:
The ones I didn't manage to catch this year but will be definitely watching in 2014 are:
2014 will be, without doubt, the year of YA book to film adaptations! Here are the ones I am looking forward to the most:
This year, I felt I have been really bad with series. There are many great series or trilogies out there that I can't wait to read or have read the first book but not got round to reading the rest. The series I aim to complete by the end of 2014 are:
1) The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
2) The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner
3) Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth
4) The Caster Chronicles by Margaret Stohl and Kami Garcia
5) Numbers Trilogy by Rachel Ward
6) Slated Trilogy by Teri Terry
7) Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis
8) Gone series by Michael Grant
9) The Hunt Trilogy by Andrew Fukuda
10) The School for Good and Evil Trilogy by Soman Chainani
I am also very excited to be getting my hands on some great standalones or new series that are coming out in 2014. Here are some of the most exciting:
As it will be my second year on my blog and seriously reading, I have decided to make a few 2014 resolutions.
2014 NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS:
1) Write a review for EVERY book I read (This year, I have been really bad for writing reviews)
2) Use social networking more (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
3) Read and complete more series (Especially those hyped about - they must be good)
4) Read at least one book a week (More if I desire)
5) Post more often!
There is my 2013 wrap up and 2014 goals! Comment below what your favourite books of 2013 were and what your most looking forward to in 2014. I hope you have a great New Year and I will see you in 2014!
