BOOKS I READ
The 8 books I have read in these first five months are ( click on the covers for Goodreads links):
Girl Online by Zoe Sugg - 5 Stars
I started the year off with a bang by reading this! Despite the contoversy surrounding this, I thoroughly ejoyed the characters and the story and ended up giving it 5 stars! Read my full review HERE.
Once by Morris Gleitzman - 3 Stars
Then, I moved on to Once - a short book, aimed mainly at middle grade which follows the story of a Jewish boy in Nazi Germany. I enjoyed the topic issue and the characters but sometimes found the main character slightly immature. Read my full review HERE.
Twilight: The Directors Notebook by Catherine Hardwicke - 4 Stars
This is a re - read for me as I first read this book many years age during the Twilight boom. At the beginning of the year, Breaking Dawn appeared on my TV and I sat down to watch it and suddenly remembered why I love Twilight. This book is a collection of pictures, sketched and notes which describe the director's decisions and process in making the first Twilight movie.
Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan - 3 Stars
Again, another book where I enjoyed the characters and diversity themes but found some parts immature. I also thought the plot was lacking in substance and wanted to see more of the OCD traits in the main character. Read my full review HERE.
Revenge of a Chalet Girl by Lorraine Wilson - 3 Stars
Although I didn't throughly enjoy the first two books in the series, I decided to give the third book a chance as I find these short novel (which are very cheap on Kindle), a great way to escape a reading slump. I preferred it to the second book definitely and enjoyed visitng old characters. Read my review of the first two books in the series HERE.
The Selection Trilogy by Kiera Cass - 5 Stars
WOW! I am literally in love with this whole trilogy and though I rated each one 5 stars, I felt I enjoyed each book more as I continued through the series as I saw more into the characters and loved them more (especially Maxon!). Review coming soon!
